Currently serving as Senior Operations Manager, Safety for the Middle East & Africa (MEA), Collen has successfully driven strategic partnerships, implemented cutting-edge safety technologies, and managed large-scale risk programs. His ability to foster collaboration and drive measurable outcomes has positioned him as an industry leader.

Collen’s career began at an Innovation Hub, where he gained firsthand experience in disruptive innovation and its role in delivering impactful solutions. He then transitioned into one of the country’s top four financial institutions as a developer, where he mastered software development frameworks and quality delivery principles. His journey evolved into cybersecurity, where he specialized in tackling complex challenges using multifaceted strategies to achieve critical business objectives.

His expertise in risk management and cybersecurity was further solidified at Absa, where he spearheaded fraud prevention strategies that saved the organization billions. His professional trajectory has been enhanced by world-class education from institutions such as Harvard University and SANS Technology Institute, along with an extensive network of specialists, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders.

Founding of The Banchi Group (TBG)
The formation of The Banchi Group (TBG) was a natural progression of Collen’s corporate and entrepreneurial journey. Recognizing the power of his diverse experience, he envisioned a company that would synergize innovation, technology, cybersecurity, and service excellence to become a powerhouse in Africa. His deep understanding of business strategy and technology enabled TBG to emerge as a leading force in digital transformation and security solutions, with ambitions of scaling into a global conglomerate.

In 2021, he founded Leafy Mall, a South African online multi-vendor marketplace connecting local farmers to wider markets and essential agricultural services. While the platform was ultimately decommissioned due to funding challenges, it reinforced his entrepreneurial resilience and ability to identify and develop innovative business solution.
